Group coaching is a process in which a group of participants comes together to work on personal and professional development with the support of a qualified coach. Unlike individual coaching, group coaching leverages group dynamics to enhance the learning and development experience.

The combination of individual goals and group dynamics allows participants to maximize their experiences, develop new skills, and build a support network that can last beyond the program.

Topics, content, and schedule are created based on the needs, situation analysis, and agreement with the client.

Group coaching is often combined with individual sessions for participants as well as individual and/or group assignments between sessions, depending on the actual needs of the group.

 

The number of sessions is a minimum of 5, usually 8, depending on the program goals defined in agreement with the client before the program starts.

A single group can include up to 6 participants; for a larger number of participants from one organization, it is necessary to organize multiple groups.

Diverse participant backgrounds:

Participants often come from different parts of the same organization or from completely different organizations. Different perspectives and experiences enrich the process, allowing participants to share experiences and learn from each other.

 

Focus on individual goals within a group context:

Although participants work in a group, each has personal goals and a development plan. The coach works with the group in a way that supports each participant’s individual goals while using group dynamics as a tool for learning and support.

 

Support and learning within the group:

Group coaching enables participants to share experiences, ideas, and challenges. The group serves as a support network where members can receive feedback, advice, and inspiration from others.

 

Structured programs:

Sessions are often structured around specific topics such as leadership, communication, goal setting, change management, and more. Programs may include various activities such as discussions, exercises, simulations, and case studies.

Knowledge and Experience Sharing:

Participants have the opportunity to learn from the experiences of others, which can provide new insights and solutions for their own challenges. Group dynamics encourage the exchange of best practices and the creation of innovative ideas.

 

Support and Motivation Maintenance:

The group provides a support system where members motivate each other and celebrate successes together. A sense of togetherness can significantly increase motivation and commitment to personal goals.

 

Interpersonal Skills Development:

Working in a group helps participants improve their communication and teamwork skills. Group coaching often includes activities that strengthen mutual trust and collaboration.

Introduction and Setting Expectations:

The coach begins the session by presenting the objectives and structure of the program.

Participants get acquainted with the goals and share their expectations from the coaching.

 

Activities and Discussions:

The coach guides the group through various activities designed to encourage learning and reflection.

Discussions are a key part of the session, where participants share their experiences and learn from each other.

 

Individual Work and Reflection:

Participants work on their own goals with the support of the coach and the group.

Each session usually ends with a reflection, where participants consider what they have learned and how they can apply it in practice.

 

Action Plans:

The coach helps participants formulate concrete action plans to achieve their goals.

Further support and progress tracking are agreed upon.
